Monia
Monia was born in Montreal. Her parents, both French-Canadian, had chosen her name in memory of their favourite song « Monia » by Michel Cogoni.
Artistic by nature, she has worked on over 40 film and TV sets, has worked as a model on about 400 fashion photos/runways, and has performed in more than 800 singing shows (Canada, Egypt, Germany, Morocco, Maldives, Singapore, and currently is based in India).
Attentive to the needs of her clients and her audience, she has acquired a varied repertoire and the versatility to perform according to different singing formulas (solo, duet, trio, quartet, and 6 pieces band).
Monia has negotiated singing contracts in venues that had never before hired a local or international singer. It’s her reliability, professionalism, and experience that gave confidence to her clients into opening their Venue for the first time, to live performances.
Monia has pursued studies in business, politics, foreign languages, arts and communication.
She is a graduate from the University of Quebec in Montreal with a Bachelor degree in Political Sciences and International Relations. She has taken a full semester of classes in the USA, and has received a scholarship to complete her BAC in Germany.
She also graduated from ProMédia (Canada) in Entertainment for Radio and Television. Her artistic studies include workshops in Musical Comedy, Theater, Dancing, Singing, Acting, and Song Writing (Canada, USA).
Monia has completed two proficiency courses in Spanish (Mexico, Spain).
Other studies include seminars in Business Negotiation, Entrepreneurship, Show Production, Conflict Resolution, and Psychology of Communication (Canada, USA).
Since 2006, Monia had completed divers singing contracts abroad, renewing many of those contracts for additional terms. She also has received many letters of recommendation (available upon request).
In her spare time, Monia loves to interact with friends and family, play sports, travel, watch movies and live performances, work on the arrangement of her shows, improve her repertoire, reading, writing and composing; she had composed about thirty songs (music and lyrics) in French and in English.
